The University St. Cyril and Methodius - Business Start-up Centre is established in 2006 as a result of project financed by the Austrian Development Agency. The name of the project is “Skopje University Business Start-Up Centre: Through Networking to Successful Companies, (Phase I – Establishment of the Centre)”.

Founded by the Austrian Development Agency and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Skopje, University Ss Cyril and Methodius Business Start-up Centre is a centre which supports students and recent graduates to start their own business. The centre serves to the students as a place where they can find all the necessary information about their present and future professional life, start their own business or be employed. In order to come up with such a challenge, the Centre offers support to its members in form of Business support and support in consultancy and mediation of their professional life.

Mission

• To serve as a creative incubator of innovative technology based and service oriented solutions
• To provide entrepreneurial and small business management training To assist students and recent graduates to start their own businesses
• To increase students and recent graduates employability

The vision of the Center is to increase the awareness for the entrepreneurship among the young population and to assist in strengthening the economic situation of Republic of Macedonia.

The Start up Center has a total area of 100 m2. It has 4 offices; 2 for the management and 2 for rent. At the moment, only one company is a tenant in the center. The tenants are free to use the computer lab and the conference room from the Faculty, for free.

The incubation period of the companies is 1 year. In that period, the rent is free. Consultant services are also free in the first year and include 40 hours of consultancy during the year. The main focus is on innovative, manufacturing companies, and as an advantage of the location is considered the proximity of three technical faculties: the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Technological Science.
