About Incubators - Business Incubator Niš

Within implementation of “Small and medium size Enterprises and Entrepreneurship Development Strategy 2003- 2008” and “Serbian Government’s Plan for support to Small and Medium size Enterprises and Entrepreneurship Development 2005- 2007, business incubator was established in Nish at the end of 2005.

Background for implementing the mentioned strategies was Entrance project, approved by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2004. Entrance program represents a part of Memorandum of Understanding, signed between the Government of Kingdom of Norway and the Government of Republic of Serbia. Project financing is provided by the Government of Kingdom of Norway. Ministry of Economy and Regional Development is National Lead Partner and Project owner. SINTEF Technology and Society, unprofitable foundation with the seat in Trondheim, Norway, was assigned by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be International Lead Partner and it provides complete support to incubator operations through its office in Belgrade.

Business incubator center in Nish was founded as Limited Liability Company, with 99, 29% ownership of City of Nish and 0, 71% ownership of Regional Center for SMEE Development Nish.

Successful realization of this project will contribute to establishing new incubator centers in Nish region and Serbia in general, as well as to attracting foreign investors and donors, which will certainly have positive impact on general economic conditions in our region, i.e. country.
