About Incubators - Strumica Incubator

“Strumica” Incubator is the only incubator that was established by the World Bank and continued to exist through self funding, based on rent from the tenants and offering services.

The incubator has premises of 2800 m2, out of which 2500 m2 are manufacturing space, 200 m2 are office space (3 offices for renting, an office for the employees and a 50 m2 conference room). The incubator is located in an abandoned military barracks in Strumica. It has a parking space for around 20 vehicles.

The incubator has a manufacturing focus, first of all because of the size of the halls and it is open for everyone who would like to start a business or already started a business, but seek organized support. There are 18 companies working at the incubator at the moment. Members of the incubator can be unemployed persons, fired workers who would like to start their own companies or start up businesses in the first three years of operation. They all have benefits in using the business object and incubators equipment, while the companies that operate over 3 years pay a full market price for the services.

The incubation period of the companies is 5 years. After the 5th year, the companies should continue to work in real market conditions, independent from the incubator. The services are charged at rates that are lower than the market and that in the first year 40%, 60% in the second, the third 80% of the cost, and after the third year the services are charged at actual market prices.

The incubator provides various services for its tenants, starting from consulting, accountant services, and financial services, legal, managerial and administrative services, promoting the business, information on credit lines and different trainings for the employees to providing help in business plan preparation and documentation on credit lines.
