Youth Entrepreneurial Service (YES) Foundation (www.yesincuabtor.org.mk)
Based on a research conducted by FOSIM and SINTEF–Norway on innovation, job creation and entrepreneurship activities among youth, the Macedonian society lacks entrepreneurial culture and supportive environment for start-up businesses. In order to stimulat e entrepreneurship among young people, teaching them how to start and run their own business and how to survive the start up phase of their development in May 2005 the implementation of the Youth Entrepreneurial Service (YES) project has started.
Foundation Youth Entrepreneurial Service is founded by FOSIM and SINTEF-Norway. YES mission is to strengthen the local innovation system in Macedonia by stimulating the practical entrepreneurship among youth by offering complementary activities that will ease the start-up of new ventures.
The goal of YES Foundation is attracting young ICT - oriented people, training and coaching them in business skills, connecting them with the right business partners so that they can compete on the global market and make ICT a leading industry in Macedonia.
The size of the offices ranges from 12 to 17 ?2. All of them are equipped with furniture (work desk, drawers, opened and a closed closet, chairs, telephone). There is one meeting room with an area of 14 ?2 and a conference room of 70 ?2, with a capacity from 6 to 30 people. The incubator has 2 computer labs, with 15 desk computers in one of them, with complete network equipment, while the other is incorporated in the conference room and has a dual role. In this computer lab there are 12 desk computers and complete presentation equipment (screen, projector, LCD TV). Both laboratories are equipped with modern furniture, a board, projector, laptop computer and can be used by the members of the incubator or can be rented to companies outside the incubator.
At the moment YES business incubator is a land-lord of 18 start-up companies and also has 5 virtual tenants. Also, in Republic of Macedonia, YES is the host organization for the world-wide event Global Entrepreneurship Week (www.gew.com.mk).
